FAQ

What programs/art mediums do you work in?
Most of my work starts out the traditional way with pencil or ink and paper. Sometimes it stays on paper and sometimes it gets scanned into the computer and I finish it in Photoshop CS. I also use Painter Classic though rarely and I’ve also been known to do a bit of folk art and clay work. For my writing I use good old standard Microsoft Word.

Can I put some of your art on my website?
I hate to say it but no. No one has permission to use my artwork except me. I used to let people use it in their email and on their website and they stole it and abused the privelage so I no longer allow that. If you like what I do then you can use one of my wallpapers on your desktop or purchase a print. Anyone using my artwork without permission will be prosecuted. I hate that it has to be this way but that’s life.

Will you draw something for me/design my website?
I would love to draw stuff for free for everyone but infortunately I’m very busy. Besides my work I have a family to take care of and I do a good bit of volunteering for various charities. If there’s something you really want me to do contact me about my prices and I’ll try to work with you. Of course if you happen to have say, a years worth of rocky road icecream you don’t need I may be pursuaded to do a little work for free…

You said you’re a writer, where can I get your book?
In a magical realm I like to call my dreams. I’m a published writer but sadly I don’t remember the name of the book my poems were published in (I was eleven). I’m working on a novel for teens right now and when it’s published I’ll definately make it public on the site. In the meantime feel free to read one of my short stories or poems which can be found in my portfolio.

Who’s the model in your photomanipulations?
Nine times out of ten it’s me. It’s not that I think I’m terribly attractive or need to be immortalized in art, it’s just that models are expensive and hard to find especially where I live. Using myself as the subject is easy and free. Occasionally I’ll use a photo of a family member or a friend but only if I have permission.

Can I model for you?
Sure, but I can’t pay you and I can’t promise to use you as a base for anything. If you want to commission a portrait or a photomanipulation like those of myself, family and friends in my portfolio I will need at least one quality photo of yourself as a reference. Prices vary depending on size and difficulty.

Why do you call your business Charmed Design?
Much as I feel my life is blessed and named my personal web site BlessedBlogger.com , I feel my artwork is charmed. I know I’m not the best or the worst in the art world and I know there are tons of artists out there trying to make a living off of their work just like me, but I create for the joy of creation and nothing else. Most of my work, certainly the best pieces, are a product of inspiration and obsession. I get an idea (thanks to my muse Niva) and I just have to complete it or go bonkers. I feel I was meant to be an artist and that as long as I create art I’m serving my purpose.

I want to buy something, how much will it cost?
That depends on what you want. Prints, custom work, portraits and website design are all very different animals and the price varies accordingly. My prices are always fair though. I want people to enjoy my work and they can’t do that if they can’t afford it. If you’d like to buy a print visit my store. For custom work contact me for prices.
